Just wanted to give you a quick update. We are still making our own cigarettes and it is working out GREAT! We finally settled into a brand that we are THRILLED with... and... the best part... we struck up a deal with the lady at the tabacco shop and she is selling us the cases at case price instead of individual. (she figures going thru 2 cases a week is about quadrupling her sales of the stuff grin) So... we are getting it for $3.19 a pouch which makes FIFTY cigarettes! :D So, you add in the neglagible cost for the tubes (the papers with the built in filter) and you are talking $0.07 cents a smoke... that's a buck 40 a pack... and obviously 14 bucks a carton... and I don't know what it is where you come from, but it's damn near 50 bucks a carton here.
So... yeah... it's working out QUITE nicely... and I have the process down so well now that I can make about a pack in the time it takes me to smoke a cigarette... so... it's not even a major hardship on time, either... I have a coupla people who like the saving of the money... but not the idea of making them and are thinking of buying their favorite tabacco and filters and paying me a buck or two/pack to make them... They are STILL saving two bucks per pack. You can't beat that!
Crazy, crazy world. I just Hope they don't raise the prices to help the major brands compete!
On an artistic note. The paintings have been put off all this time, but now that summer is here, I may have more time to work on it all :) But, the photo-art is still kicking ass! I have a two models I have already worked with looking to work again soon as well as one lined up for warmer weather and one who is seriously considering the idea. The one who is concidering is pushing 50... and I love that. I LOVE the fact that my art in and of itself is saying something and doing something for people. Even before the piece is created, just the photoshoot alone is teaching some woman that she is beautiful!
You all know me and know how much I LOVE teaching women that they are beautiful for who and what they are. The color of your skin, the size of your waist or boobies (be it small or large)... are not additives to who you are. They ARE who you are and they are what make you beautiful. Stretchmarks or saddlebags... don't take away... they create the uniqueness in all of us. And, my art serves as a means to showcase those uniqunesses... not shoot around them, but allow them to flourish and allow the model, as well as the world, to realize that it is what makes us different that makes us beautiful!
I'm sure all of this "point" is lost by the time the photos become art... and I'm fine with that. My art is still my art... the fact that the process is allowing women to realize how beautiful they are is reward enough in the faces of the women before me in the studio that it doesn't NEED to come across in my work. AND... it would kill the point if people started looking at my work and saying "hey that's great art even though you used REAL people"... because thus far people are simply calling them beautiful and THAT is what they should see... because I capture the beauty of the "real" people... not simply their "realness" lol
so... anyway... sorry to babble... back to the models. The 50 year old has STUNNING eyes... so I'm hoping she says yes... oh... and she says that people have told her she should be a hand model and... I love hands in my work (see ... that hand is gorgeous against the softness of the rest of the form) :)
And.. one of Carla's friends also wants me to shoot her in a rope/restraint type environment... and she'll be bringing her own rope tyer... grin... so... that will be GREAT to capture the beauty of those knots against the beauty of the female figure. We haven't ironed out all of the details, but there is a commute from upstate NY factor involved as well.
I'll try to keep you posted more often... but we all know I fail at that! grin

So, I experimented with my new painting idea this weekend...
and...
success!!! woot!
I knew the concept would work... I just feared it wouldn't come across as "fine art" as it looks in my head. THAT is the artist's burden. The mind can conjure a million flights of fancy... in the head EVERYTHING is possible. If I were to set up a surveilence camera in my mind's eye you would have some of the most splendid art you've never seen. The trick is getting it from the mind to the real world with it looking as close as possible.
This new stuff looks almost identical to the work in my mind. I simply now need to come up with cool poses for these figures... map them out... and I am on my way.
I'm excited to be a painter once more... it just FEELS GOOD! I always laughed as artists would say to me "I need to get my hands dirty"... I have no need for nor aversion to dirty hands. Art is art and whichever medium it chooses... is the medium in which I am creating at the time. BUT... that said... I have to tell you... the tactilness of brush against paper... the feel of the watercolor as it went from pigment to dancing stream of bubbling colored water... to a sea of merging colors upon the page... it made me remember why I am an artist... I created a test with my daughter's name and then another with a free flowing figure... neither what you could call "art" and... yeah... I was smiling like a kid in a candy store.
It was FUN! I didn't even HAVE to create a successful piece to feel accomplished... I felt the potential of this before brush even made it from my pallette... good good times.
I still have some issues I need to iron out before I actually begin one which I want to call "done"... like the drying time of wax and the sie of brushes I'll need... but aside from the technical crap... this ship is ready to sail. And, like with all painting endeavors of mine, the concepts, pieces and ideas are already materializing in my head. (again... ifn we had the mind's eye monitor... I could show you about 20 finished pieces and be done already lol)
I want to stay strict to "fine art" to start... but... I am feeling this outlet being the place where the faeries and the angels and that sorta goodness finally see their light of day.
Oh... and speaking of angels... I have been doing much research on the matter as of late (books which happened into my sphere (I don't believe we are given information accidentally))... and well... I know a handful of you (well... of my friends on here... whether all of them still read or not (can't blame them with all of my absence... but I do thank those of you who do)... anyhu...) believe that angels take human form... and whether they are just temporary angels or somehow that is either knowingly or unknowingly... their day job. One of the books I read (from 100% Christian point of view... written by a preacher who LOATHES "New Age Angels"... lol) he calls these "creatures"... "angels unawares"... I like that... I don't like the "s" on the end of it... but I like A) the concept (always have) and B) that a preacher believes in the concept and C) enough to even NAME the phenomenon
anyway... sooooo... yeah... I've been wrapped up in that for these past months and now I am headed to tracking down every culture's creation myth (ever cuture which has one... did you know not all cultures have a religion? More cultures have Vampyr myths than have religions... I read somewhere that EVERY culture has a vampyr myth of some sort... I looked YEARS ago... and couldn't find them all... but I found plenty of cultures who had them... who did NOT have a creation myth nor a religion... trippy, huh?)... and find the common threads. To compile ONE myth from the places where they overlap (and they DO overlap quite a bit!). Aside from the "clash of the titans" intro... the Babylonian creation myth is almost spot on with Moses'.
reason for telling you? Because you may be hearing of my findings from time to time. But, as with all things with me... when I'm screwing with people's beliefs... I do it from the point of view of the people and I respect their beliefs and the value they have to those people. Our journeys are different... so our needs are different... my mission is to find where we as HUMANS all run into the same needs.
aiight... done boring you... I now return you to your regularly scheduled friends list reading.

Hola all!
This was a cool and interesting weekend! First I got an ephiphony for a new outlet for my art. ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND... it involves.... *shudders*... of all things... WATER COLOR! I enjoy watercolor as a medium, but... in art college you have two types of instructors... the ones who teach you a medium and those who teach you a PROCESS. And my realism wasn't cutting it for my watercolor professor... so I gave up and just made very pretty abstractions. It was FUN... but... it wasn't what *I* wanted to get out of the medium... so I have left the medium behind. UNTIL NOW!
I got this cool idea and I'm sure any kind of paint would do, but in my head I could see those abstract pretty things returning.
Much like my paintings (which few of you have seen), I will have a figure in the foreground and the background will be allowed to be "out of focus"... and, probably, so out of focus that "pretty watercolor abstract" would be the PERFECT description. We'll see. I just did a new photoshoot with a model from NJ... so I have plenty of work to keep me busy right now... but... I WILL find the time to work on these soon.... I'm pretty excited about it!
Now... model from NJ... That went GREAT! She was a hoot and we got some truly great pix out of it! It was funny... people constantly talk about me capturing the soul of the model, so she and I were talking about that as we drove to the beach for the shoot and she said, "I'm sure you will see me as loud and bold... most people do"... and the first piece I made actually shows her quite calm and reflective. Soooo... maybe she will see deeper into her soul from my work. That would be cool... BUT... given some of the shots we got... I'm sure her bold personality will sneak thru as well... grin
it was good good times, though... I should have the first piece we did together posted on ericsartwork along with some others (including an older piece (which is still one of my favorites) called Imbolg... I may have posted that one on here... either in this journal or one of our mutual comms)... all depends on how ambitious I am today.
busy busy busy... and it seems my online time isn't quite as full as I had originally hoped... but as long as I get a day or two a week... I can get quite a bit done and Still have time to catch up with everyone... so... it's all good
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
and the other thing I discovered this weekend... you can roll your own smokes and save about 20 bucks a carton :D And they have filters and EVERYTHING! It's quite cool!
Over the summer we went to these redneck auctions and there was alll kindsa cool stuff and one of the things Cher bought was this old pipe rack which has this airtight glass jar in the middle of it. So... we filled that jar with about 100 smokes and now ifn we need one, we just open the jar and grab one out... no more fumbling for half empty packs... no more cardboard and cellophane waste... just a nice fresh smoke from the jar on the coffee table. We still have a few empty packs and a few cigar holders which we filled to take on the road and such... but... at home... "oh... look... smokes... handy!" lol
So... so any of my smoking friends out there (I know we are a dying breed)... you can buy the "cigarette making machine", a few cartons worth of "tubes" (rolling papers with filters on them) and a canister or tobacco all for less than the price of a carton... and from then on you are seriously spending AT LEAST half as much as you use to.
And... the handy thing is... most of the "regular" tobacco they sell loose is Turkish or some Turkish blend... so to all you Camel smokers out there... it won't be AS smooth as you are used to, but pretty damned close. NOTHING smokes like a Camel! And... anyone who smokes anything else... yeah... you won't know how the hell you have happily scratched up your throat with those Marlboros. Ohh... and they also have Menthol filters AND tobacco... so... coolness for all of ya'll out there.
So.. yeah... we only started this weekend, but... given such... have prob smoked a few packs worth and.. so far... so good :D
aiight... that's about my weekend in a nutshell... I will keep you posted on the tobacco as that goes... I'll keep you posted on the watercolors as they come and I will be consistantly posting new (and old) work to my other journal.
love ya'll :> e |

Ok... does every post start with "long time" or is it just me?
Well... I'm back online seemingly more regular-like... I have turned all of my online profiles back into the vehicles to promote my artWork they were originally planned for.
Well... all of them, but this one... I mean, I will change some of the texts here and again to make it more "look at me, I'm an artist-ish"... but... this is the one place on the entire planet where I can be ME... I can let my hair down here (and sometimes my pants... lol)... I can let it all hang out... and know that not only won't I be judged... but... most of you can often comisserate with me. Ya'll and your virtual hugs have meant the world to me over the past half a decade or so....
I was reading an old "paper journal" the other day... and you could tell in it that I was CRAVING a place JUsT likE THIS! I know Debbie doesn't read my journal anymore... but I'd like to thank her anyway... cause without her and her assorted guy probs at the time, I would have never created one of these... and having it has meant so much to me in times when I NEEDED something I could get no where else.
Carla and I were talking about "human interaction" the other day and... you know... you all have made me feel totally different about that topic. My answers were so much different in that recent conversation than they would have been 10 years ago... hell... even 6 or 7 years ago. Ya'll are like family to me... I image our relationship is much like that of people who work on a sit com together. We aren't related... but we know more about each other than most people in the world know about us.
I think that's a cool thing.
So... as I am back online more now (for now at least)... I hope to catch you all up on stuff... and to keep this journal as it always has been... I created a new journal to post my new work as I create it... ericsartwork Feel free to friend it so you can know when something new is posted... but... nothing will be "friended"... so, you don't HAVE to and you will still be able to see all of the goodies... grin... but... be aware that a good deal of my new work is Not Work Safe... and I am not cutting it... it's my damned journal and it makes it easier for me to scroll thru and look at it all if I don't have to click behind cuts and all...
There are poems with all of my new work... similar to the way I worked in the "beginning"... long ago, before any of you knew me.. when I was a painter. The poems are posted along with the artWork on the posts.
I think that's all I have to say!
I AM online more now... but I am seriously hitting the ground running... so, my efforts are all aimed at getting my art out there... I hope to have the time to check in on all of your journals soon, though....
BUT
if there is anything new and exciting going on in your worlds... drop me a line and let me know... you guys KNOW I care!! :)

| update |

ok... time for an update... a real one to catch everyone up to speed... grin
In late spring Cher ended up needing a place to stay, and my roommate at the time let her stay with us. We didn't jump right back into "I love yous"... we lived as roommates with separate lives and separate dating and such (well... I dated... she didn't)...
time went by and we were more and more "us"... the dating ceased... and we moved to the farm
my hours got cut, so we couldn't afford to support the farm, so we found a nice lil house in town... completely ADORABLE! It was half the cost of the farm... and THANK GOD... cause the next week, I found out that I had lost my largest client... the client who pretty much eclipsed my business almost a decade ago
so... that left cher as the "breadwinnner"... so... I began my "early retirement" and giggled about it... with the move to the new place we were living well within our means and doing great... I was going to get back into my work much more seriously and she was going to work...
then... BLAM... she was laid off... leaving us with virtually nothing... but our cute lil house... and each other
so.... we began selling things on ebay for people for commission... and that made us rent last month... Cher got a new job... which come to find out... they have no hours either :(
Sooooo... that is why I spent a buncha time not having time for ANYTHING
and... in the spring I had gotten into my art again, as I think most of you have seen... and then my laptop CRASHED with all of that new work inside of it... yeah... that kinda crushed the art train... A LOT... but... I got another laptop and still had my most recent photoshoot on card from the camera...
well... the other day I came out of my slump and began work on about 5-10 new pieces... most of them from this new model, but 3 of them are from an old shoot Cher and I had done in late 2004 before all of the fun which would be deemed "2005" began... grin and 1 from a model I shot years ago as a part of my faerie series....
so... I have a new model who is local who is interested in working with me
while I don't have the resources right now to print or show any of this work, I am finding much solace in the creation process and these new pieces are coming along AMAZINGLY! I will post a few as soon as I come to a point where they are reaching "done"ness
and kristi... ifn you want to do more of what you did last time, that would ROCK! But... ifn you and the hubby and kidlet wanted to take a trip to sunny delaware... that would work, too... grin.
I'm sure I will in time get the hard drive of that machine back up and running... and retrieve that other work... but... in the meantime, anyone who had posed for me who wants to pose again... that would be good times :) grin
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
and... in my clearing of old discs and cards and such... I came across my old medieval novel... I just finished reading it today and I think I may begin finishing it... not that I have the means or whatever to deal with publishing and such, but... it would make ME feel great to see it completed!
That's about it... life is stress and poverty... but... I am still finding the umph to create... and... well... the fellow poetic souls out there know that creating keeps us sane... keeps us alive!

soooo... it was brought to my attention that just because I don't feel quite ready to blog doesn't mean I can't blog to say I'm alive and am just not ready to blog lol
I have finally gotten over my boycott of the net but I haven't fully worked my way thru my resentment of it... dunno... never been stung quite this bad by something which I had once spent so much time.
Carla has really helped to get me over myself in ways that she prob didn't even know she was doing it... and cher has been so competely supportive of my need to avoid the web (mostly because the web has historically been such a place of ugliness for her lol)... but
I have been creating both visually and writtenly (lol) and once we make it over this hump of dryness... I will spend the cash to get my new work out there. Takes money to make money.... so that can wait... it won't be much longer
wow... blogged more than I thought... wonder if anyone out there even remembers I'm here to care to read it grin
matters not... point is... I've blogged now... and may do it more often... maybe
love and miss you all, e |

ahhhhhh
glad to see that all branches have been extended and accepted... grin
Only 3 weeks left... and as I stated in the earlier blog... THANK GOD FOR THAT!
I have said my final thoughts on how I see it and where I see it and how I see the "likely voter" shift this election...
I have had my fun with this... as it gets down to crunchtime... the candidates can do as they please... one camp can liken a candidate to a terrorist... an other candidate can liken the other to a klansman...
I don't care... I've just used this big ole news thief to entertain myself (and I hope some of you)... but... for me the election is OVER... the stock market is up over 500 points (it'll prob end lower than that... but it's up right now... grin)... so... I will prob return to farm and art blogs from now until November (but... maybe until January... it all depends.)
If stupid shit is said by either candidate or the people around them... I WILL laugh about it here... but... the politics as unusual are done for me
Oh... and halloween is coming up... so there will prob be talk of that
Cher and I are going as a flagger and a street cone LOL... should be good good times lol

my good LJ friend Beth has made VERY valid points about the polarizing of this country caused by the recent tactics of the McCain team.
Not to defend them... but I think the desperation of futiley attempting to gain 11 points in less than a month has caused them to attack from several angles at once and when lumped all together read uglier than maybe they intended.. or not... its not my job to figure out how ugly the desperate can be.
Mixing "terrorist" with "not one of us" is tough wording....
but... I'm not in their camp... and I was writing a pro-woman blog...
I didn't name the boy... I would apologize ifn I had... but I didn't... so I did not use his middle name to infer ANYTHING other than the fact that it was his middle name.. period.
The king part was "eric humour" for hail to the chef... I didn't realize "king" referenced color... nor do I think King George or King Louis 1-14 or other kings for that matter... and the mixture of "king" and "hussein" actually draws a line closer to King Hussein... who is an ally and I'm pretty sure is not offended by his own name.
but the point here is not the sensitivity to words or implications which may or may not exist (as in my case where they did NOT!) ... The point here is the polarization Beth spoke about...
we are all friends here and no matter what rhetoric or dirty tricks either party will spew in this election or the next million... we've all got to remember who WE are... and not allow bulshit or dirty politics to tug at US...
or we've all lost... no matter which politician wins

| Women on Top! |
|
|
| 11:15am 09/10/2008 |

So... Ross Perot being a fly in the ointment not withstanding, It has been FOREVER since a Democrat has won a second term. This is because the big promises don't come, so you "return the unused portion" as soon as you can and demand that you are not "completely satisfied" (look at history people... I don't know how people are still fooled after all these decades...). And vote for the "straight talker".
Well, in 2012 John McCain will be pushin 80 and his age was ALREADY a question. BUT... in that time... Sarah Palin WILL grow to become a household name as the feminists who believe in GOING OUT AND GETTING equality and not taking no for an answer will be putting Palin on their shoulders to thwart the ivy league elitist feminists who believe that bitching, whining and calling "unfair" are the ways to equality.
The American people didn't wait for King Georgie to HAND OUT freedom... they TOOK IT! There are no hand outs for equality... as soon as you put your hand out... you are saying that someone is better than you and they need to "give you your fair share"
NO ONE is better than YOU! Period! And "you" meaning "every one of us"... regardless of gender or race or creed or color or height or weight or whatever other "indicators" which would make you feel others are better than you! They aren't. We are all the best and if we don't believe that, this is a free country and we can do what it takes to BECOME the best... not a class divide not a cultural divide... not a gender divide.
RISE UP!
Don't wait to be carried up or pulled up... RISE!
And.. I believe THAT is the spirit Palin has injected into the women's movement. At least to the ones who want to hear it and pay attention. She didn't put her hand out and wait to become Governor... she took no shit... she beat some asses... and smiled. Beauty Brains and Power!
So many modern feminists forget that the burning of the bra was not to make you LESS FEMININE... it was to bust the shackles of control... it was FREEING the ta-tas from the grips of men who feel they can control you. (wear a corset once and you'll realize past generations had it worse than you, though lol).
Being a woman is more than the right to kiss a woman and kill a fetus (you know... if you so thusly choose)... it is not having to make it BECAUSE you are a woman... or INSPITE of the fact THAT you are a woman... Make it because YOU can make it... not as a special interest group or a statistic... but as a HUMAN BEING!
So... once Obama's first 4 years of lies are up... he WILL face Palin again... and if not Palin... someone like her... someone inspired by her... and with her as poster child... in the next 4 years we will learn that being "pretty" (which I believe we are confusing her looks as attractive... simply because she's more "feminine" looking than some other women in power) doesn't make you stupid. You don't have to shave your head and think boys are yucky to be strong... or intelligent or EMPOWERED! You don't have to go to an Ivy League school and learn the doctrines of other feminists to be... um... A WOMAN!
If feminists believe they own a "club" with a secret handshake and a golden key to the executive washroom... well... then they are NO BETTER than MEN!
And... well... I think the time has come that the platforms women stand on/for have more substance... more impact... and are more about me teaching my daughters that they can STILL make it to the white house in a DRESS not a "business blazer"
BE WOMEN... don't lose that... or the fight to the top is lost.
Hi... I'm a man... and the reason I champion strong women is because I know women can make REAL changes in the world... I know women can alter perceptions and bring an end to all of the boy scout behavior... all of the hazing and the "locker room towel snapping"... all of the secret handshakes and the hidden agendas. Women will care for us... with the TOUGH LOVE. They will do what is best for us... whether we like it or not.
And... what good does it do me to keep hoping this if when we finally get women in power... they... um... look and act like men. That is the most defeatist attitude EVER.
Women CAN beat them... so they don't HAVE to join them!
Well... we have 4 years to hide and watch this change take place... I have a feeling the "Palin Experience" has opened up enough dialogue and discourse to set it all in motion.
And... in the 4 years that pass with King Barack Hussein Obama falling short on all of his promises... women WILL see a shift in ideology and there WILL be a woman waiting at the podium at the next presidential debate in 20012... I'm thinking Elizabeth Dole might be a good candidate... (I had big dreams of a ticket with her and Colin Powel back in the day... even built her a website about it...)... but... yeah... mark my words. Though Palin doesn't seem to be making it to the white house... she (and her inspiration to women every where) WILL still be a force to reckon with in the coming years. And I say God Bless Her for it!

| do we declare the winner now and just get on with the rest of our lives? grin |
|
|

it goes to 11!
So... bigger and louder than everybody else... THIS is Spinal Tap! grin
The Obama lead takes on a SOLID double digit lead... there is NO polling error gap big enough to squeeze THAT lead into. And... this is gallup... the people who (while they lean to the left) I trust emphatically for the polls. They haven't guessed a prez wrong in the 70 years they've been doing this.
Now... there is one factor, I'm not sure many people (who aren't statistic junkies like myself) are aware of.
The polls you see from most places are based on "registered" voters. But... there is also some slick lil math they do called "likely voters"... and when the "registered" polls are stripped down to "likely"... the Republican candidate gets a boost. And.. sometimes a sizable boost... but... um
NOT A TEN POINT BOOST!
Obama's lead now makes the "margin of error".... pointless. It is a FACT that Obama is in the lead... and solidly.
Palin got a bum rap and I think the history books will show that.
McCain's voice is annoying as all hell and I think even those who WANTED to hear what the ole chap had to say couldn't bare to listen to him.
And... while Obama speaks like he's always about to say, "See, that's where you are wrong" even when he's talking to people who agree with him... he has a nice voice which speaks with confidence even when even HE isn't sure what's going to come out of it next.
Biden didn't do shit... he acted out of character for the debates and THAT was enough to get them thru it... Obama should be thankful.
So... Obama looks to be the winner... we are out of BIG CHANCES for the McCain team to swing those numbers around and that kind of lead is not beat with a sway... or an undulation... it is beat with a bang. And... with less than a month til polling... there are no BANG chances left.
The only thing which COULD help now is if Palin went on SNL and played HERSELF! The people would see there are no hard feelings and that she actually has a garsh darn sense of humour and that COULD do SOMETHING.
But... being as how normally the GOP is saved by "likely voters"... I'm saying they are SOL... cause Obama has already enlisted UNlikely voters. Like I said before... NO ONE has polled the homeless... gallup just doesn't ring up soup kitchens and back alleys and shelters in hopes that they can get patched into each person's personal suite. So... the UNlikely voters are going to KILL the likely voter count. Bus my ass to the booth and buy me breakfast and maybe *I'll* vote for you.
Doesn't matter... Delaware is already Obama's... so... I can sit home... OR go to a homeless shelter and vote for McCain a hundred times... NONE of those votes will count in the general election.
Speaking of Delaware, real quick, before moving on to my next point.
I was driving and saw a sign that simply read:
Delaware's Joe Biden
No "vote for"... no "for VP"... no Obama NOTHIN... but... it was down south where the rednecks grow... so... that could be... but... it just looked DUMB... I shoulda grabbed it... I will next month if its still there lol

God I love money! lol
No... I seriously could live without it... I watched a movie called "Off the Map" where the people were completely self sustaining and traded canned veggies and livestock for medical attention and did EVERYTHING ELSE for themselves. Yeah... *I* wanna be there! I would miss all of my great friends in interwebworld, but I could live just happily with my goats and chickens and chilrens and wife and garden and... maybe an apiary (cause honey is natures sugar... lol)... I could get a windmill for my well pump and make my own candles... I could do it... I know I could... and with this economy going the way it is... one day I may have to... maybe I'll become Amish! lol
soooooo... anyway... sorry... still a little cold about this whole FEAR of a recession that's not going to happen (ohhhh... and in comedy news... Lehman Bros (one of the big companies on the bailout list) said today "Hey, where's OUR bailout?" hmmmm... makes you wonder where that 700bn is going, doesn't it?)
ok... so onto the point.
CBS stated today that the race was TIGHT!
lol
EVERYONE... (including Gallup which has a leftist slant in their journalism, but... their polls have SPOT ON for decades)... says that Obama is showing beyond a margin of error lead for over 10 days now... declaring that no longer a bounce or a blip or a jump... but... a sign that Obama HAS pulled ahead! And these polls don't even show the HOARDES of homeless people the Obama camp have been busing the the poll booths to vote early... cause homeless people don't have phones so can't be polled... so add in all of THOSE people and... yeah... Obama is the CLEAR leader here.
but... yet... CBS (home of Katie "I'm a bitch who badgers my guests til they look like raving morons" Couric) is stating that the race is closing up... and even TIGHT! AND BETTER YET! They are calling it tight due to the Vice Presidential debate! Are they so desperate for ratings that they are going to say Palin did well enough in the debate to TIGHTEN THE RACE!??!?
mmmhmmm
Show of hands as to why they are claiming this?
Faulty polling? Rigged polling? BULLSHIT?
Fear of ratings sucking! PERIOD!
They know a close race will lead to a bigger turn out... and though we may be in a recession... it's an election year... so they have PLENTY of advertising dollars coming from candidates... but... if this debate flops like the first pres debate did.... awwwh :( candidates will be the ONLY ad dollars they are getting.
If the cool kids (18-29 demographic) aren't tuning in... how do the advertisers plan to hock their beer and pimple cream?
THEY CAN'T and they will see those ad dollars more well spent on TRL, reality programming and reruns of Will and Grace.
Poor CBS...
hmmm... I'd feel bad for you if your journalists were actually journalist trying to find the scoop not sway the masses.
That is all... I just had to share the idiocy of greed... it's FUN
anyone feel up to addressing the homeless voters (one of them a FELON!) feel free... I'd love to hear how THAT isn't susceptable to voter fraud and confusion
\: e
BUT... in debate news... um... look for a sharper less meak McCain... I think he's borrowing Palin's Polar Bear Rifle and he's going to be GUNS BLAZING... I wonder if Obama will be able to maintain his grace and dignity in the face of that... or take his own gloves off fear of looking like a wimp.... should be interesting... or COULD be... but... it'll be a boring and lifeless as the last is MY guess grin |

OK... I think I'm burnt out on the politics... grin
I'm feeling the burn of this recession nipping at MY OWN ass... and... it's hard for me to even think about either of these guys ACTUALLY having my best interest at hand when I think of the BILLIONS of dollars they are spending a day trying to beat each other. Ya know... with the money they spend daily... they could just mail each and every one of us a check in a nice lil card that says:
"Hi... it's election year. A buncha people (all richer than you will EVER hope to be) handed me blood money for me to use to convince you to vote for me so that once you DO... I will pay them back by doing exactly what they want. So... instead of blowing that money on the campaign trail... with buttons and stickers and postcards and TV infomercials... I've divided it between registered voters and... well... here is your cut. I hope this causes you to think about me on election day, but if not, I hope it goes to helping you pay your mortgage and/or car payments a few times."
I just can't believe there are countries that owe us countless depths of bottomless wells of cash and we are in deep shit right now and no one is going out to 'breaka their knee caps"... or "rough them up a bit".
Isn't that the first thing YOU do when you realize you are screwed? You get on the horn and go, "um... bob... remember that fiddy bucks I lentcha? You wouldn't happen to have that would you? I'm kinda tight right now"
The second thing you do (or maybe the first... but... the other came first in my rant... grin)... is pull your pockets inside out. You check coffee jars, you check winter coat pockets... you break piggie banks... you drain your savings and realize that new computer may have to wait til next year.
I think everystate should have had to look at money tucked away for "special projects" and fork it over to the bailout. And... of course... fuck your income or your surplus or your current state of affairs. It would come down to your electorate. Why not?!?! Do some of those tiny states deserve their voice heard 11-20 times in an election? Maybe. But... if they want to continue... they need to fork up the amount decided upon... times their electorate. Delaware would owe that amount times 3... and Pa times, what? 21, right? And... New Jersey... well... they would obviously owe MORE... grin... since it is the population of Vineland that are getting hurt the worst. So... they need bailed out the most... so it should be that much more important to them. But... no... NJ is one of those states I was talking about... it has 15 votes when Arizona only has 10.... and you could say it's because of the number of people... but... um... there are more people in NYC than in the entire state of NJ and, yet... NY only gets like 31 for the whole damned state... riddle me THAT batman?
I get it... I have researched it and it all makes perfect sense... but... yet... at the end of the day... it doesn't... seriously... grin... but... yeah......................
Point is... let's see this bailout do something... kick start this failing economy that everyday Rob says, "Did you hear THIS company just bought THAT company"
The lil companies can't get bought... its the lil companies that fuel this country... the mom and pops all the way up thru the "start ups"... the ones built around the ideas of one brilliant person with the balls and foresight to see it thru... not the ones designed by investors with no other purpose than to attempt to be bigger than the little fish... and eat them all up when times are bad!
I AM a lil company... but... no one's going to be buying me... they will just offer what I do cheaper and squash me...
BUT
my main client is a lil company... in the scheme of the world... we aren't Monster... we aren't Yahoo (who ate up hotjobs).... we are the product of one brilliant man who saw a niche in the hispanic/bilingual job market and filled it... and filled it WELL... with excellent customer service and a website which continues to evolve with the times to meet the current needs of the user.
THESE are the companies that won't see a DIME of that bailout... the ones that have to pray that the bailout kick starts the economy to have people back to a good place.
I have said for years that life is perspective... the economy is perspective... It will ALWAYS come out on top... because when things are shit... things are cheap... and we are never ALL hurting at the same time... sooooooo... the ones with the cash buy up the cheap shit... giving money to those who don't have it... so they can buy their own shit back... for MORE than they sold it... but... they don't care... cause now... to them... the economy is going better!
So... whether this bailout simply funds these parachutes... or actually gets these businesses back on the ground... the CONCEPT that money is moving again... will get people to spend it again... and make people more SECURE again... cause the FEAR of "going under" and the fear of "having to sell off"... causes these lil companies to lay off... and... um... ya'll know I was JUST getting my head back above water... I CAN'T lose this client and be back to "pickin shit with the chickens" as my daddy use to say.
So... when you hear Obama saying "people making more than 240thousand" or whatever his cut off point is. THOSE people are the people who keep this country moving... not the ungodly wealthy... so... make it for people under 500thousand, even... but.. god save the small business owner... because he employs MOST of us and IS the rest of us!
that is all... not good times... just thought I'd share

So... as you know we didn't get the pig for the anniversary... but we DID get two GORGEOUS lil peacocks.
I brought them home and put them in a pen thang... and fed and watered them and hung out with them in the evenings... well... Friday after work... I decided I was going to let them roam free a bit and then pen them back up and do that a little at a time until they realized that this is a nice place to be.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Yeah... they took off and flew into the chicken coups. Why not? hens is hens... and cocks will be cocks! and... cocks are as cocks do... the roosters came out and tried to kick their asses! So... they flew over AGAIN.... into this little blackberry bush pricker thicket of some sort... I tried to talk to them and hang out with them... but... that wasn't workin.. so... when Cher got home, we went in and ate and did the nightly stuffages... and when we came out... no 'cocks :( buttttttttt... no 'cock carcasses, either... so... that could be good :D
And... there they were... on top of the chicken pen (the outside enclosure attached to the hen house).
PHEW
So... we put a bowl of food up there for them and went to bed.
The next morning... they are hangin out with the goats... happy as can be.
So... I didn't get the chance to hold them and love them and have them become "pets"... but... the main point was to have these beautiful birds just a roamin the land... and now it's been 3-4 days and they don't show any signs of running away... so... I think they are going to stick around! :D
So... this was our anniversary and we normally spend it (well... we normally WANT to spend it) at the Delmarva Folk Fest... but our friends Danielle and Rich got married the one year... and our goood goood good friend Tiff got married the next year (I was photog for both and cher was IN Tiff's wedding lol)... so we've never REALLY been able to just up and enjoy it... so... this year... we said FUCK THE DUMB STUFF and just had a nice laid back time at home.
It was Pauline's (the one roommate and one of the few people who dressed in garb at our wedding) Bday.... so we did a whole surprise thing. Rob (her hubby) had me restore an old family photo of hers for her... she cried... very sweet.
Then... there was pot after pot of chili and other such coolness... and we had a bonfire... and Pauline's people over... and good good times :D
It wasn't the fest... but... as Cherith and I have been realizing... as much as we LOVE tradition... in times of change... sometimes it doesn't hurt to CHANGE the traditions.
and... um... I have a feeling a GREAT DEAL of our new traditions will take place around that fire pit!
We TOTALLY forgot to drink our home made Meade, though :( Guess we'll have to do that THIS weekend (kidlets are goin to granny's lol)
but... all in all it was a nice relaxing and refreshing weekend.

e
ohhhhh... and I am SO doin "I love my 'cock" type shirts... lmao... I can't NOT! |

Biden: WOW! Very impressive. I've heard him talk on the Senate floor, I've heard him debate and I've heard him campaign... and this was DEF a kindler, gentler Biden. Someone you could call Uncle Joe... He reminded me of Clinton without that gay ass breathless voice Clinton has to dissarm the soccer (hockey?) moms. He didn't interupt. He didn't huff (cause he saw how bad that hurt Gore with the chick votes against Bush... face it kids... Bush is Bush... he didn't WIN... Gore LOST!) when she said things which made him look bad. He was patient and well mannered and well spoken (teeth a gleaming all the while) and... well... IMPRESSIVE, really.
Shocking?
Political! That's the word. We KNOW how he can be... how he IS and that was not him last nite. That was a career politician who was coached VERY WELL on how to beat a "chick"! But... no matter how he got to that point. Point is... he got to that point and THAT is what the American people are going to see. It's so funny... cause the media is saying "this unknown woman got nominated VP"... and the general public is eating that up goin "yep... I never heard of her"... but... lest we forget the unknown governor of Arkansas? The primaries that first year were betwen Tsongis (however you spell it) and Brown... close... one nite I see this old guy playing sax on Arsenio and... BLAM... he's the front runner... what the shit? AND... the greater point I'm getting to here. Biden has been in the Senate for over THREE decades now... and I imagine the average American had never heard of HIM til this all began. Those "undecided"s assume A LOT of power for people who are so absolutely CLUELESS about politics outside of the last 3-4 months of an election year when the mainstream media tells them it is hip to be involved.
Point is... He's seasoned. He's "just like the rest of them" with his condescending tone and his bully arguements and his interupting and not letting others get a word in edge wise. (Remember lil Ross Perot, "can I finish?") But... tonite... to the MASSES... he was Joe Biden, Barack Obama's running mate. And... he played it well.
TOO well, I think. He was spewing rhetoric so believable that even as Palin called him OUT on issues he DEF opposed Obama on... for the last few years... and as recently as the primaries.... he was able to pull it off so believably as if he were made from the same stuff as Obama. That worked because A) People don't fact check B) Undecideds don't watch Primaries and C) He made it so HE sided with Obama... standing behind Obama's beliefs as if they were his own... saying "I agree with Obama" not "Obama agrees with me"... that was a safe move... grin.
Alll the way to the "HeartBeat" question.
He stood there like a cardboard cutout... all expression stripped from his barely open eyes and said, "If Barack would die... I would do EXACTLY as he says we will do... I will do the same things he would... I am his clone... his concubine... I hear and I obey" and then he broke into some slang about yarbles and Ludwig Von. Ok... from the "clone" on... I added... I think... I dunno... it was growing late and... THOSE TEETH!
While Palin (and I add her here because I was saving this part til now to compare them on this) said (with a wink and a smile) that she and ole johnny boy... "we have our differences dontcha knoo? I keep nudge nudge nudgin him about certain issues and he's all 'ohhhh misssy... we will agree to dissagree there... you silly thing garsh darn it'". Seriously, though. She stated, "If the geez bites it... I have plans of my own... no lil girl grows up in Wasilla (doesn't it seem like it should be Wasilla Falls? Or is that just from watching too many horror movies?) wantin to be VICE president... I've thought about this my whole life... and... the man is seriously 72 years old, people... so... yes... I share his views on energy and education... but... I have my own agenda that I would LOVE the chance to lay out there"... She showed she had her own mind while showing them as a TEAM.
I think that is the part Biden lacked. Biden made it seem like, "Yeah... my guys inexperienced... but... he got the pres nod... I didn't... so I will just be his advisor"... Sounds a bid like the Bush administration to ME... does it not?
So... he continued to carry himself well... civil... well spoken... he actually almost lulled me into a false sense of "liking him"... so... for people who don't know him thus couldn't see thru the sheeps clothing... I'm sure a LOT of people came away from this actually liking the guy. And THAT was important for him. It makes HIS gaffes more human.
Now... I stated in the Palin blog... that Joe was speaking Greek. Was it just me? I mean, I'm into this shit and I aint never heard of half those countries and didn't know ANY of those people EXISTED! lol... Seriously, though. The average American heard Sarah all gung ho... all YEAH TROOPS... all "down home" and then they heard Biden fall into his typical Senate Floor drone about all of these countries and leaders and battles that were fought before 40% of the swing voters were even born... and on and on and on and....... on. I KNOW they average viewer got up for a beer and a piss break during that.
Which isn't BAD... it didn't hurt Barack to have Biden ramble cause he was attacking the Bush administration... when it was actually attacking... it was mostly just SPEWING... so... the viewers in the bathroom or kitchen didn't miss anything... so... it wasn't BAD... it just wasn't good... cause that's point to Palin for her golly whiz "go get 'em big strong men and women" attitude.
But... he volleyed shit at her... he didn't hold back on the facts (except his dance around gay marriage... which I KNOW is not an "issue"... the reason I MAKE IT so important... is because A) I'm A HUGE supporter of gay rights and I think this debate goes to the CORE of the separation of CHURCH and state... period B) Because of the masterful way the Obama campain SPINS this issue. Which I think is a great place to call it... and go to their High Points for me........
High Point Palin: Palin's high point came wrapped in what I first saw as a weakness. She was so emphatic about the definition of marriage instead of spinning around it like Biden did and like Obama does and I cringed, but... yet. The moderator picked it up and lobbed it right back at Biden and said, "Well, Joe ole boy... where do you and Barry stand on this issue?" But... better yet... she pointed it AT HIM... as a yes or no question. "Sen Biden... gay marriage... yes or no?" And... he had to look at her (not the camera... can't look the American Hippie population in the eye and say it) and simply say, "No, Obama and I do NOT support gay marriage."
BLAM! High Point for Palin. She took the reigns... she leveled the field and she was SO strong about it that she even influenced the moderator to feel it important! Again... I know most of you don't see it as a key issue, but... no matter WHAT the issue... lil Miss Inexperienced LEAD the debate... she didn't play catch up... she wasn't being bullied by the moderator OR Biden... she set the COURSE... and THAT took the kinda skills we need in a president!
High Point Biden: "So... this chick over here is trying to play the mom card and make me seem like an out of touch MAN... well... sniff sniff... *I* was a single father... sniff... my boys were ill... sniff sniff sniff" I feel for the boy... I really do... even though I don't grasp all of the details of his story. BUT... it was the "holdin back the tears" moment that won him the High Point for ME. He completely TRAMPLED on Palin's brilliant "kitchen table" story of schmall town Amerka... and took the entire focus off the fact that she was saying that she GETS US... cause she IS US!
*sings* "... I support you, for I love you... Understand you, am one of you..."
and... he turned it to be able his hardships... not about the issues she was addressing... AND... called her sexist for thinking SHE is the only one that knows about raising children. GENIUS MOVE in my opinion. And... the reason I call it a move... and can "exploit" his tragedy like this is because he went to stammer or stutter or misspeak in some fashion... so he parlayed that into "choked up"... he repeated himself twice... and THEN... didn't even finish his sentence... but... not cause he was too choked up... but... because that was good enough... he had taken the focus and... the tears and voice dried and as he changed the subject to something else altogether and NO ONE noticed... because he had FEELINGS! I know it's suprising to the general public that a MAN could FEEL... but... he's a Democrat! They are the "touchy feely" party of hippies. Great move Sen Biden!
So... there you have it... a nice civil conversation with on person "honored" to meet the other and the other's "pleasure" to meet the other. They had a nice discourse which, as you can see in these blogs, DID actually contain some substance... but... more importantly... it brought these two people into our homes and made BOTH of them more REAL... more human... more Regis and Kelly... and I think that helped both Obama AND McCain... and THAT was the point of tonite's debate.
and there's MY $.02... tax that however you'd like... lol <:

Palin: Before Cher had fallen asleep toward the end (I think while Biden was speaking Greek about foreign countries (more on that later)) she had only counted THREE bobbles... and that was including the one stutter pause thing. Cher had the moderator and Biden at 5-10 times that, easy and the moderator was not only scripted... she WROTE THE QUESTIONS! lol So, that was good times.
She was sure of herself and "spoke right down to earth in a language everyone here can easily understand"... she even jotted things to rebutt down as Biden was talking in order to stay focused and not have to just cut him off right in the middle. She spoke strong and clear on the issues (war, healthcare, education, even some moderator induced fluff) even made important COMPARISONS on economic plans between the parties. She didn't "have to get back to you with examples"... she didn't dodge questions... ANY of them. Even cam RIGHT OUT and stated emphatically SEVERAL times that she did not call gay unions "marriage"... and I CRINGED everytime! They know you are a christ-y... no need to drive that home anymore than you gotta... look at Biden... he said, "CONSTITUALLY.. we believe they have equal rights... CONSTITUTIONALLY".. and avoided it. We knew what he meant. She coulda been "creative" like that! Oh No... not Mrs McCain "Straight Talker"... noooooo... she has to make sure she spells it out. Which I thought was a mistake. Until it proved to be her high point for the nite (more on that below).
She talked TO the American People AS an American Person. She had a fine line to tread.. working between proving her experience and proving she isn't a "lifer"... while not making age an issue like she did so easily in the Alaskan debates. She couldn't jab Biden for "being around a while" without insulting McCain at the same time. But... she did insult Bush QUITE a few times "blunders" was used ALMOST as much as that damned "Maverick" word... (seriously... I'm voting Obama unless McCain SWEARS to ban the word "maverick" from his administration. I pray it's a campaign strategy... not his presidental mantra. I don't know why it gets so far under my skin... but it does... and Palin even had Biden saying it!). She ran that line and REALLY drove home the fact that "I'm every woman"... she toned down the huntin and killin and such and focused MUCH on clean and DOMESTIC energy sources.
( rant on BUY AMERICAN )
It has become a MANDATE from the people now... period. So... even if Obama says he WON'T drill... he will... we've ALREADY BEGUN DRILLING!
wow... sorry for the tangent... I put it behind a cut... lol
Education came right from the mouth of a mother of public school kids. I mean there were times when she did dig at him or jab at him or put him in his place... but... the rest of the time it seriously looked like a PTA member won a contest to debate against a "real live politician"... but... she did it in a way that made her more REAL... not less experienced. And... their points on education are GOOD ONES! We NEED to treat teaching more like a "Profession"... it is no longer a "job women get so they can work the same hours their kids are in school"... some of the teachers at our schools don't get out of there til well after 6pm. It is a Profession... not just a job... and teachers need to be treated as such!

So, as predicted... it was too very amicable, civil profressionals speaking intelligently (albeit at times colloqually) on the presidential nominees.
No car crashes... no one-two punch knock downs... just political discourse.
The kind you would like to see more of, though, really. None of the crosstalk shows talking heads are this knowledgable or this well mannered... it's everyone speaking over everyone until no one is heard. Hey... maybe the winner of the election can grab a new VP (or the other presidential nominee) and Biden and Palin can do a Regis style morning show... but about politics... lol. Could be good good times. "Joe and Sarah Civil Talk" or some such.
Now... before I get into the strong points and the weak points and all that fun. I have to point out how *I* saw the debate:
I was like a dog hearing "blah blah blah blah" because my eyes were so fixated on the spike of hair Palin had over her left eye that was stuck to her mascara and would bounce every time she would blink (which was quite frequently). And Joe Biden talks with his lower lip... so as his mouth moved (cause that's all it was doing in my head... no words... just teeth) all you could see was the glare of his over whitened bottom dentures.
I had such great want to watch this thing and LISTEN... and there they were bouncing and flashing! Sarah tucked hers back at some point, thank god... but... Biden's teeth never dulled... not for a glareless moment.
Ok, humour aside (yeah... like the rest of this is going to be completely serious... lol), let's get down to the ups and downs of performance (and maybe substance) which I will put into two separate blogs "Palin" and "Biden"... I realized as I went to write them that there actually WAS some substance to the debates and I got a little more long winded than I had intended... lol

ok... is it just me or does it seem like this debate tonite will be the most watched thing since... well... since the last "most watched thing" (which was not the presidential debate the other nite)? And... does it feel to you like everyone you know is tuning in for the "sport" of it?
LET'S GET READY TO RUMMMMMMMM... um... debate!!!! grin
yeah... There are people who are looking for fists to fly and censor buttons to get pushed raw... somewhere between Springer, Boxing and a Wrestling Cage match! And others are seeing it as NasCar... just killing time between the jabberin waiting for the CRASHES! lol
I'm a little bit of both... and maybe we all are.
We've become such a "train wreck" society... that I think we are all interested in the concept that this may be more than politics... by being... well... LESS than politics. There will be laughs... there will be gasps of "oh no s/he didnit!?!?"... there will be proverbial punches... but...
sadly...
for the most part it will just be rhetoric about their #1... just talking heads in an interactive commercial for the presidential candidates (maybe Obama can air Biden's bits on his CHANNEL! yep... Obama bought a network on DISH to air Obama stuffs all day... all nite! grin). And, that's fine. But... I fear come tomorrow morning it won't be "omg... did you see THAT job"... "omg...that was a KNOCK OUT punch there"... "holy shit... did you see that wreck... there were parts thrown ALL OVER the race track?!?!"... it will be "wow... that was a major let down"
and... that let down will have once again not allowed them to get to... or us to hear... the actual issues.
Which is fine by us. Of the people who have commented on my blogs or written in theirs (with the exception of Heather)... it seems we've pretty much all made up our minds and it doesn't matter what who says about what. They wonder why the polls look like a DNA helix? um... cause... they keep confusing the living FUCK outta the undecideds... well
I'm still popping the popcorn and ploppin my sucker punch car crash awaiting ass on the couch and awaiting the fun
have a good nite everyone... <:

I am now the proud owner of not ONE... but TWO peacocks!!!!
yepper!
I know they aren't the most "farm" type animal you could buy... but ever since we ended up with this much land I have thought.... "This place needs a peacock!"
I thought about getting one of the "typical" ones... the blue and green and brown... but... tonite I walked in there and saw this white one... and it popped it's cute lil head up out of the box and he had the most BEAUTIFUL blue eyes and I went "omg... mommy... can I keep it?"
in the box was also a brown and white one... not as "pretty" but I think the brown one is cuter... has a real personality and it let me play with it more
well... by the time we finished with the pig auction (they only had ONE pot belly, but I decided today that it didn't matter the cost, I was getting Cher a pig for our anniversary... (LMAO... how frikin perverse is THAT? "we'd simple folk" lol... and it got to about 40 and a guy behind us goes, "you know it has a bum leg, right?"... um... no... thank you... stop bidding)... I was so prepared to spend whatever... and had all that time of standing around to bond with these damned animals... that I just had to have them.
sooooooooo
now I do!
We got a cage/pen thang for 5 bucks (big enough to fit ME in) for the bunnies we were hoping to get... and... ended up not getting (everyone wanted them for FOOD... yep... ick... so... they were going for 10-20 bucks... screw THAT!)... so... I brought the birds home and put them in that for tonite... to get them use to the idea that they LIVE HERE... then I plan to just allow them to wander the grounds and enjoy themselves :D
wooot!!!
I will have pix soon... cause... c'mon... how cool is it to own frikin peacocks??!?!?! I'll be shooting them like crazy

So... c'mon... breathe a sigh of goodness and light with me real quick...
*sigh*
To get away from politics for a nano second (cause you KNOW I'll be right back into it with the debates coming up... which should prove to be HYSTERICAL (Biden has been advised to keep it civil and "be nice to the poor defenseless woman" and Palin has been advised to remind people what they love about her as the "spunky" "fiesty" "frontier woman" who "stuck it to the good ole boys"... and come out swinging).
Ohhhh... and in honor of the "spunky" and "fiesty" ladies of LJ *coughs*beth&donna*coughs* I created a "Liberal Chicks Kick Ass" Shirt! lol... While there, I made a bunch of other "donkey" inspired images (with more to come this week as we get them up there)... because... well... just because *I* am pro-Palin and a number of feminists and "women first" advocates are supporting Palin... doesn't mean that the liberal women should be left out. Ya'll kick ass and have all of my respect and props for fightin and bitchin and making sure to find all the info you can... and not just voting Obama to "run with the cool kids".

anyway... dammit... wanted to talk about other things and STILL got swept into politics... lol
Sooooo... things on the "farm" are still rolling swimmingly... all of the roomies are getting along famously... the dishes are getting done with no one whining or complaining... laundry is getting done... sometimes... grin... but... that's a personal matter... not a communal matter, so... that's up to the individual... hang out time has been great! We have had friends over... they have had friends over... and all the groups seem to mess quite goodly :D
And... once again tonite... we are going to the animal auction!
Cher is Hell Bent on a pot bellied pig and a rabbit (for Jos)... but... I ain't gettin SHIT until after the winter... (have any of ya'll seen A Knight's Tale?... there's a line in that movie about them living like commoners and he asks "...even with the pigs inside in the winter so they don't freeze?"... I keep thinking of that as I keep thinking of holding off for warmer whether before "adding to the indigenous population"... lol
BUT
That said... this weekend IS our anniversary... yep... god knows how many Octobers ago... we got all likr'd up and took that there plunge... (we will be celebrating this weekend (the actual date is tomorrow (the 2nd) but we celebrate it the weekend of the Delmarva FolkFest every year because that's where we got married (hmmm... weren't far from the country life back then either, huh? lmao)))... so... ifn we see a pig cute enough and reasonable enough (what would ya'll pay for a PET PIG? LMAO! I'm thinking no more than 30, right?)... I think I'll get it for her for our anniversary... and... obviously... if there is a peacock for less than 40 bucks... that bitch is MINE! grin
welp... there's the farm update... I will have an art update VERY soon
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH HHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! <:

I'm finding with this economic thing... the best way to talk about it... is just to quote people so... um... how's THIS for a head scratcher?
Barack Obama on Tuesday stepped up his advocacy for the Bush Administration’s $700 billion bailout plan |
